Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina is fortunate to be one of five agencies receiving part of the proceeds from the Charlotte Wine and Food Weekend being held Thursday – Saturday at a number of venues around the uptown area. As you might imagine, events of this magnitude require A LOT of volunteers. The positions we are responsible for where we still need help are listed below. The Gateway Perimeter positions on Friday, 4/23, are literally standing around the perimeter of the event—there is picket fencing marking the event area—directing people to bathrooms and answering questions. The parking/greeting on Saturday 4/24, is standing in pairs on the Ritz parking deck directing people to the elevator and telling them what level to punch and would be a great activity for couples, friends or parent and child. Fact sheets on the event and directions for each assignment will be provided to all volunteers. Individuals and groups welcome to volunteer.
