Electronic Voice Phenomena
EVP's (Electronic Voice Phenomena) are electronically captured sounds that resemble speech, but are not the result of intentional voice recordings. If you would like more information on EVPs, go to Haunted Voices or the American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena (AAEVP).
Noise Outside of Sickbay - This was captured in 2010 outside of Sickbay on the USS North Carolina by CAPS member Jeff Willoughby. The noise was heard by Jeff, Ash and Laura. Several minutes were spent trying to debunk the sound to no avail. The closest the group came to duplicating it was by moving a table in a nearby room. However, the noise was witnessed to have not come from the room.
Courthouse bell - This was taken at the old Cabarrus County Courthouse in Concord, NC. The bell was removed roughly 50+ years ago, according to a staff member that was present when the recording was made, in 2002.
Weird hotel noise – This was taken in a hotel in Burlington, NC called America's Best Value. I have pictures associated with this of two orbs in our room. My husband and I were both sleeping, no one else was in the room, and the recorder was set to voice activated.
Shut Up - This was taken at Bethesda Presbyterian Church on the way to Brattonsville in McConnells, SC. We were walking through the cemetery talking among ourselves, and got someone telling us to shut up!
Lawson Family Gravesite – This was captured at the Lawson Family grave site taken when we did the ghost grrl hunt July 5th, 2008. It is me (Susan) talking to the father who murdered his family on Christmas Day in 1929. There were no males present during this time, yet it is a male's voice heard on the recording, and in direct response to the question I had asked.

Myrtle's Plantation 1 – Captured at Myrtle's Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana. Recorder was left in house while all investigators and staff were out of the building.

Shiloh – Captured at Shiloh, as investigators were getting out of the car. A fine example of why you should turn on your recorder on arrival at a location and keep it on until you are in the car to leave.
